Tasting - Red Juicy Blend from Acronym.

Juicy Red Blend from Acronym.

The wine I tried this week was Acronym.'s Juicy Red Blend! It comes from California in the United States, and the vintage year is 2021. It was around $7. The variety of the grapes is a red blend that doesn't specifically list the exact grapes anywhere on the bottle or on their website.

From Wine Folly:

Since there are no grape varietals listed on the wine, I will say the smell and taste of the wine are accurate.  When I did a smell test, I did smell the "primary aroma of raspberry and pomegranates from the red fruit category" from Page 30 and a potential "tertiary aroma of vanilla from being oak aged" from Page 31.

From Vivino:

"Full-bodied raspberry- pomegranate wine. Unexpectedly smooth and very enjoyable. Low acidity semi-sweet and pleasant to sip. Gets a little lost with (heat) spicy foods, but great with normal salted foods. From Kroger, a pleasant surprise new pick for the week!"

"Definitely light to medium body very fruit forward which that’s what they’re going for and yes, I get beautiful raspberry Nots pomegranate with a hint of a pepper note, but it’s taking a backseat you almost get it at the finish, which there’s not much of a finishing kind of tapers off wish I can see why you might pair this with some cheeses or a light snack"

"Tasted a little bit like a tire"

From Wine and Words:

I couldn’t figure out the flavor profile on this one. It didn’t have chocolate notes or floral, or oaky, or anything I could readily identify! It perplexed me and not in a good kind of way. I guess in essence I felt, the flavor was a little flat and didn’t speak to or hold my attention. I did however enjoy indulging it in the bath! It is a great relaxation wine, as it warms you up from the inside out!

My Personal Review:

My review of this wine was that I actually really liked this wine! I had it by itself with a friend while watching the Super Bowl and it was somewhat enjoyable. I've never really had red wine so I was expecting to taste this big bold flavor, but it was really mellow and nice even by itself. I could taste the fruits initially and it wasn't too harsh on the palate. I warmed it with the heat of my hands and it tasted so much better than if I had left it on the table and drank it as soon as I picked it up. I would rate it 3.1 out of 5 stars.
